I am a technology genius......

......well, at least to a class of eighth graders. Today we went into the computer lab for a webquest on the Bill of Rights. Some kids were having trouble entering the web address, so I would retype it for them (after their numerous failed attempts). My ears were immediately greeted by sounds of "wow" and "oooh, you're soooo good at that! You're soooooo fast!" I told them that with some practice, they too could type as fast as me someday. It may sound dumb, but it was pretty cool to be a tech genius in their eyes.

AWESOME Technology

I observed an eighth grade math class today that had an amazing tech-savvy teacher....who was also willing to shell out the bucks for an LCD projector and some fun software. Using powerpoint, she was able to write on the powerpoint slides--circling and underlining, writing math problems and solving them as models for the students, and drawing graphs. It was a great tool, but it is unfortunate that such technology is not provided by the schools. I'm starting to brainstorm some ways that this technology can be used in a LA/SS class.....and how I would pay for it.....
